The Northwest's Leading Home Performance Contractor.

Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States (after smoking), with about 21,000 lung cancer deaths attributed to Radon every year according to EPA estimates.

You can't see radon. And you can't smell it or taste it. But it may be a problem in your home!  The only way to know is to test for it!

Revival Eneregy Group offer Radon testing and mitigation services

What is Radon?

Radon comes from the natural (radioactive) breakdown of uranium in soil, rock and water and gets into the air you breathe. It can get into any type of building coming up through cracks in floors and walls, gaps around service pipes and construction joints and results in a high indoor radon levels.   When you inhale these decay products you expose your lungs to radiation.

The amount of radon in the air is measured in "picocuries per liter of air," or "pCi/L."  If the levels in your home are higher than 4 pCi/L then you are at risk and the EPA recommends mitigation services to lower the Radon levels.

Clark County, Washington Highest Radon Levels in State

Clark County has one of the highest rates of radon gas in the state of Washington.

The reason for this goes back about 15,000 years when a series of massive floods hit the area around the end of the last ice age, dragging uranium-bearing rocks from other parts of the region with them. The floods blasted through the area, along the channel of the Columbia River, depositing the rock and impacting areas in both Clark County and north Portland, Oregon.

Reducing Radon Levels

The great news about Radon is that if you do detect it, there are things you can do to prevent it. This includes sealing cracks in the foundation of a home to prevent radon gas from entering and in more severe incidences we can install a venting system.

Revival Energy Group now offers Radon mitigation services for homeowners.

Radon Mitigation

There are several proven methods to reduce radon in your home, but the one primarily used is a vent pipe system and fan, which pulls radon from beneath the house and vents it to the outside. This system, known as a soil suction radon reduction system, does not require major changes to your home. Sealing foundation cracks and other openings makes this kind of system more effective and cost-efficient. Similar systems can also be installed in houses with crawl spaces.

The right system depends on the design of your home and other factors.  Revival Energy Group is a mitigation contractor and can help not only with testing, but should you have high Radon levels we can help you reduce them to safe levels.

  • They gave me a clear bid with plenty of options and no pressure on what to buy. The work got done less than a week after I accepted the bid. They left the house cleaner than when they started.
